    • Fox trot and the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra! I could kiss you for this, but I bet neither you nor Better Half would enjoy that.

    • Did I ever tell you all that in the wake of September 11th the Times, which was wall-to-wall 9/11 coverage and they did a heroic job back when they were a serious newspaper, ran an article about music that was pretty much banned from public radio stations for the duration? It was actually very funny in a grim way, I thought. “Leaving on a Jet Plane” was one of them (“don’t know when I’ll be back again…”)

      Here was another one:

      They had a whole list, and it was written in that earnest, unironic Times way. I should search for that article. That whole period is so difficult to imagine now. I hope someday Covid also recedes from memory.
