  1. This is not a song, but it’s a nice little scene. On Mutual of Omaha’s “Wild Kingdom” Marlin Perkins wrestles an anaconda. And why not? Some people were doing crossword puzzles or volunteering at the local library. Everyone needs a hobby.

    • He usually delegated the hard work to poor Jim.

      • Yes, but toward the beginning of the series Marlin was no slouch. I have vivid memories of watching this as a young child and watching Jim scamper up trees or make a run for the Range Rover when some beast got sick of his antics.
