Deadsplinter Up! All Night: Waiting

I’ve been waiting a long time…

Patience is a virtue, they tell us. But waiting is often excruciating, unless you’ve got some tunes to distract you while you wait.

Thanks for your patience and for supporting DUAN, Deadsplinter.

The Videls, out of Mount Pleasant High School in Mt Pleasant, Rhode Island, were Norman Marzano, Petey Andreoli, Vincent Poncia, Bobby Calitri, and Herb Rickey.  They performed mainly at high school dances and proms, and occasional CYO sock hops, but broke into the night club scene long before they were old enough to drink legally.  Their first record contract was with local label Rhody Records, which was run by the mobbed up building contractor Joe Criscioni.

  17. The Kills — “Wait”

(And at the moment, I’m waiting for 70 minutes to pass so that I can get off fucking work and start my fucking weekend.)

    • I really like The Kills, and I’ve been lucky enough to see them live a few times, pretty decent show.  Mosshart pretty much convulses around the stage the entire performance.

      • Yeah, I saw her about 10 years ago with The Dead Weather (with a ticket I’d bought well ahead of time, before the venue decided to play up the Jack White connection so that they could sell out the place), and she’s certainly quite the powerhouse as a performer. I could’ve seen The Kills a few years ago, but they were playing a festival here – and I just didn’t feel like paying the cost and dealing with almost everything else that a festival entails just to see them.
