I saw the Truckers open for Clutch in 2007 or 8. If you know Clutch, you know its pretty hard for them to be outplayed, but both the Bellrays and Truckers gave it their all that night.
Charlie Starr and Blackberry Smoke, a terrific Southern band that is finally gaining some traction after playing bars and small venues for a lot of years.
Also, last night I posted the trailer to the new Lynyrd Skynyrd documentary. The band is from Northern Florida (Jacksonville), and it reminded me of an old joke that is attributed to Abraham Lincoln who said, “Florida is the only state where the more north you go, the more southern it gets”. And I think there’s a lot of truth to that!
I need more hours in my day to find all the stuff everyone is doing all over the place but if you ever feel like kinja has any right to your forgiveness there’s a home for any/all of it at ifyoubuildit.kinja.com for as long as the gods smile upon us…
I really am trying to keep up…there’s just too many people doing too many things…hence the extra hours thing…which is fucking weird as all hell to me since I’ve been praying for more sleep & less hours in my days since I can’t remember when.
Well, I logged in for the first time in days and see this as last night’s UAN. I was going to post a different song by The Coup, in tonight’s UAN, but now I have to post this Coup song as a reaction to the headline.
The Coup – Laugh/Love/Fuck
A bit of a carryover from last night:

Keeping with the Southern Rock motif (well, inasmuch as Toledo, Ohio can be considered “Southern,” but the song should count):
Band: Five Horse Johnson
Song: Mississippi King
Beverage: Blended Scotch
