Deadsplinter Up! All Night: We’ve Been Together Forever

We have a couple’s shtick, “How long have we been married? Foreeeeeever!”

Keitel Blacksmith and I celebrate our 24th wedding anniversary tomorrow. There was more than a little bit of eye-rolling back when we got together, because (to my chagrin) Keitel was 23 years old, while I was 36. Keitel is the person who annoys me the least, makes me laugh, and always has my back. Over the years, we’ve run the marriage vow gamut – richer/poorer, sickness/health, better/worse, and life/death of loved ones, both two and four legged.

But the grace of our union comes down to this: because of Keitel, home is always good.  “All I think about is you, my darling, you make me happy, I hope you feel this too.” Happy Anniversary, sweetheart.

  1. Wow! Congrats, that is a huge accomplishment & you are an awesome couple. Not sure why I thought of this song when I thought of you guys getting together.

    • We do check with each other as to the over-share. I do not want to be boring or one-track. Feel free to let me know if it is too much. Also feel free to come over and organize my freezer. Yours is a thing of beauty.

  2. Y’all KNOW there’s plenty of ‘Jovi’s for that!😉😃😁

    Congratulations on the Anniversary, you two! You guys ARE adorable, as the others have said, and I wish you both MANY more happy anniversaries together🤗💖💞💗💓

    As for the songs,

    OF COURSE this one is the one *most* folks would expect, but it’s ACTUALLY a breakup song (listen *closely* to the lyrics🤔):

    THESE are the real love songs😉💖;

    Other bands with great love songs😉;

  3. I was gonna pick a different Roky song (I Have Always Been Here Before) based on the title… but I feel like this is way more appropriate.
    Congrats!

  4. It’s funny that the two of you are 13 years apart because that’s the same age difference between myself and Mrs. Butcher. When we got together I was 29 and she was 42. We’ll be celebrating 17 years in June, assuming neither of us gets hit by a meteor.

    For your anniversary, I give you Keb’ Mo’ – I’m Telling You Now.
