Pain is nature’s way of telling us that deep down, we’re worthless pieces of shit. It can empty life of other experiences and shrink your existence down to a tiny dot. As Emily Dickinson said, it cannot recollect when it begun or if there were a time when it was not. And yet, pain can be a gift (or so I’m told). It can make you change your frame of reference and learn to ask for help. It can remind your of your connection to humanity, for whom pain is a condition of life. It can give you a chance to see if there’s something you can do differently. It can force you to adapt even if only temporarily. But it still sucks.
I’m wondering how you deal with pain. Me, I’m a big baby, probably because I’ve been lucky enough that acute pain has been relatively sparse in my life.
Thank you for coming out for DUAN and thank you especially for putting up with me making everything about me.
Simplest answer is RICE: rest, ice, compression, elevation. Not all of those are applicable to every case, but I do my best to follow those for any physical issues. Ibuprofen helps with some issues, too. After initial injury, I try to stretch and/or massage, lightly, the affected area.
Good luck with your surgery.
Frankie Goes to Hollywood – Kill the Pain

the physical shit dont bother me too much…its just grit yer teeth and bare it….the mental stuff haunts you
Hope you recover quickly.
i do believe its a faux pas to post pain and not go with fight
or at least midgets with guns
anyways……fairly sure im over my allowance now and should fuck off to bed
Here’s a little help (I’ll let you decide whether it’s the band or the song title, but don’t mix)
Pabst – Ibuprofen
Depends on who you ask
Hoping you make a quick and complete recovery. For physical pain I try to tough it out as much as I can. I don’t take any medicine stronger than a Tylenol, slippery slope ya know . I’ve found the best way to deal with emotional pain – shove it way far down. Keep it deeply repressed, lol. But seriously…

Pain is just weakness leaving the body. Sometimes your spirit tags along with it.

The obligatory Hurt. I have a high pain tolerance, good thing as I was raised to suck it up, dust myself off, and get on with it. Also to go to school or to work, “you’ll feel better once you get there”. You, Luigi my friend, should take it easy; internet hugs coming your way.
