I just came in from driving the big John Deere around the frozen farm roads with the snow plow attachment, listening to some tunes from 2023. Some of the new rock and roll from last year helped me get through the bitter cold and gave me encouragement about how the current generation is doing. Rock & Roll is alive and well.
NOTE: “Whither rock & roll” comes from a movie made in a more innocent age (1977). It’s said by a very young Jeff Goldblum who plays a cynical music critic for a Boston alternative publication that’s being bought out by a big publisher. For some reason, the line stuck in my head all these years.
