In the northern hemisphere, winter officially begins on December 21 or 22. But after spending a week in Stillwater, Minnesota, USA, I assert that the cold part of the season is already here. As our Canadians and Minnesotans can attest, the northern climes are cold right now. The wind down the lovely St. Croix River pictured in the header had me wishing for running shoes that were not so well ventilated.
So, winter: do we celebrate it or despise it? Can we do both?
