Deadsplinter Up! All Night: Yam Yam

Sweet Potato based music for your soul!

Yam Yam is a blend of jazz, jam, funk and soul. A very talented group of musicians from Harrisburg, PA., they are great music to groove and keep you on a positive vibe.

It’s kind of a build your own theme night folks, you can post potato based music, fruits and veggies, random jazz/soul/funk or whatever your heart wants. Have a great night!

    • Let me make an unasked for cultural comment here because I’m so bored. What the B-52s were parodying/paying homage to in 1980 was something that would have seemed perfectly normal just 15 years earlier, in 1965.

In the mid-70s I remember being in elementary school and seeing a film about the mid-1960s and we all laughed at the suits and skinny ties and short hair on the men, everyone wearing large (or cat’s-eye) glasses, the women in “Mad Men” appropriate dresses. That was only ten years behind us. The transition from 1965 to 1975 was a really rapid whipsaw.

Do young people now laugh at what 2011 looked like? I don’t think so. I have my own bêtes noires, the cronut and avocado toast among them, but if I were sent back to 2011 I don’t think I’d notice and I doubt most ten-year-olds would. Except no one would be wearing masks, but depending on where you live no one does anyway.
