Fun fact! That song from Dirty Dancing was not ready yet when they had to film that scene. There were a lot of creative differences about how to make the big song for the movie and the producers turned down like 150 songs before going with this one.
So they choreographed it using a metronome instead of having a song to work with, and then later did some reshoots off the demo and the singers watched the rough edit of the scene to make some vocal flourishes to match the lifts.
