ESPN is reporting that the Department of Justice nabbed a dozen former NFL players for bilking the NFL healthcare system, if you wanna call it that, out of millions of dollars. The most notable name among these is clown costume enthusiast and former Denver and Washington running back Clinton Portis.
The list of the charged is definitely strong with Guys:
- Robert McCune
- John Eubanks
- Tamarick Vanover
- Carlos Rogers
- Ceandris Brown
- James Butler
- Fred Bennett
- Correll Buckhalter
- Etric Pruitt
Also set to be charged are former Saints Pro-Bowler Joe Horn and Donald “Reche” Caldwell, whose presence here fuels the fire of the people that believe anyone named Donald is an asshole.
Portis’s attorney of course claims Clinton believed he was in on a legit medical reimbursement deal. Thing about that is, the indictments show that players made claims for costly pieces of equipment that were never purchased or delivered, but they received the claim money. Seems unlikely that one can just make mistakes like that out of hand.
