Hi, friends!
What boredom or dull tasks occupied your weekend?
I spent my Saturday night cleaning a ceiling fan and changing lightbulbs. I bet you’re green with envy.

I got out my chainsaw to cut up the pile of fallen limbs that has accumulated over the past year. The chain was too loose and slipped off, so I had to figure out how to reset it and tighten it, then get back to cutting endless branches into endless little pieces.
Cleaning the turtle tank. And this was the major cleaning, where I completely drain the tank, disassemble the filters, and replace the filter mediums and all that crap. I typically do that quarterly. Monthly cleanings are largely scrubbing the tank while flushing out the old water and replacing it with fresh water.
Moving a bunch of sheep shit into buckets to make sheep shit tea to use as fertilizer as we prep the garden for next year.
Cleaning dishes and cooking food with gluten in it.
I had one sister (the gluten intolerant one) visiting me to help deal with Mom and Dad’s house and she left this morning.
This week is going to end in disappointment. Not because I’m clairvoyant or Eeyore, but because my vacation ends on Friday. Too many people had time off and I couldn’t get the entire week off.
Speaking of gluten free, I made polenta yesterday and asked myself why I don’t make it more often.
Are you now making food with alllll the gluten because you missed it?
Not entirely. I just need to use it up.
This morning a bald eagle was dive bombing a bunch of ringed neck ducks on the lake. Every time the eagle would dive at them, the whole bunch would dive under the water. This went on for several minutes until the ducks had enough and broke off into different groups to fly away. No breakfast for the eagle.
That’s a great description.
My wife spotted a Baldie about a year ago here, and my sister sees them in Chicago. It’s great how much they’ve rebounded.
