I decided to keep things light?
What makes your brain go bump in the night?
What I used to fear or have anxieties about:
The Dark
Being exposed as a fraud/imposter
Am I capable enough, good enough (ties in with imposter)
Cokehead Narcissist
Do people really like me?
Will my parents approve?
What I still fear/anxieties:
Heights
The existential dread of the human condition (Nuclear War/Global Climate Change)
Losing my job/finding a new one
Stupid things that no one else seems to think about but hang me up.
Getting older
Open Threat/Thread as per usual.
The point of no return when ocean temps are so warm that coral reefs completely collapse and the oceans acidify.
Also, sometimes my credit card bills.
As a child I was terrified that my ceiling fan would fall off the ceiling and shred me to bits in my bed. I forget which movie I saw where a person got shredded in an industrial fan, somehow 7 yr old me thought my ceiling fan could do that to me. So that was an old fear.
Also, because my dad was obsessed with waterbed (no clue why, it was the 80s), I had a waterbed as a kid. If there was a thunderstorm, I would stay up late afraid that lightning would strike the bed because it’s water. Kid brain logic was “get out of the pool, water attracts lightnight” therefore “I am using a mattress made of water, it would definitely attract lightning, too.”
Can’t sleep or fan will shred me?
It was right over my bed!
One of my cousins unwittingly cured me of that fear because he decided to throw my favorite stuffed animal into my ceiling fan while it was on, and all that happened was it knocked dust loose.
I definitely fear getting hit by a car someday when I’m out walking. There are a lot of pretty callous self absorbed drivers out there.
Back in my running days, I hated going on long runs outside because of the idiot drivers. Can’t trust them at all.
Clowns…. still fear them.
The 1990s mini series and film remakes of IT (or information tech) are nightmare fuel to me.
I have to admit ever since I was a kid I thought clowns were funny.
Nah. They always freaked me out.
I’m at that age when almost all my fears are about bad things happening to the people around me.
I know I’m not not on that list. Every time I post here about an anvil almost falling on me or an ACME rocket launcher blowing up in my face, your response is always LOL LMFAO.
One of these days I’m catching that Roadrunner and then I won’t share with you.
Tastes like chicken.
I’m worried Loveshaq is never coming home
A cat burglar!
