Yes, friends, with a sort-of holiday approaching, it is time to make a Jell-O- based dessert to celebrate. So dump your Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Grande latte down the nearest sewer and make this.
Ingredients
1 package (3 oz.) Jell-O Brand Orange Flavor Gelatin
1 cup boiling water
1 package (4-serving size) Jell-O Vanilla instant pudding mix
1 cup cold milk
1/2 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
1 can (16-ounces) pumpkin
1 cup thawed Birds Eye Cool Whip Whipped Topping
1/4 cup cold water
Directions
Dissolve gelatin in boiling water. Prepare pudding as directed on package, using 1 cup milk and beating 1 minute. Blend in spice and 1/2 cup gelatin. Chill until thickened. Then beat until fluffy. Blend in pumpkin. Fold in whipped topping.
Spoon into dessert glasses. Chill. Add cold water to remaining gelatin. Chill until slightly thickened. Spoon into glasses. 10 servings.
[Ed. note: 10 servings? More like 2. And what if you’re having the neighbors over and it’s 1973 and there’s an Ice Storm and you’re hosting a key party? And Sigourney Weaver is there. No. No no no. You will have to quintuple this recipe, at least.]
And it is the same color as the shag rug in the den!
Or the velveteen living room sofa!
And the wall paper!
…sorry
…as you were?
There was a time when I’d eat most anything with a Cool Whip topping.
…cool whip, you say…& I hear it’s important how you say it, too?
I used to sneak spoonfuls of it out of the tub in the fridge. I do not judge.
How can I make this work with my bundt pan?
…first, you’re gonna need some flying monkeys
