The twice-weekly Food You Can Eat feature has reached it’s swan song.
First published on February 16th, 2020, it has undergone many iterations, including chefs, frequency, and publication time. And, it has been a labor of love for we veterans of years of food sharing.
Both Butcher and I have reached a point of being unable to maintain this column in the face of ever-increasing work responsibilities; we both know the joys of continued 6-7 day weeks and the 10 hour day, with no end in sight.
Cousin Mattie has soldiered on even though he is in overdemand for his writing skills, and HammerZeitgeist has risen to the occasion even with adding another HZ to her family.
This simply isn’t sustainable.
I offer my heartfelt appreciation to both the cooks and the commenters; you are the very best of people!
So we pass the torch on to you, dear DeadSplinterites – contact Myo if you wish to keep the gas flame alive . . . or the grill . . . or the electric burner.
It has been an honor and pleasure to cook and bake with you – may your world be filled with Bundt cakes!

Oh, I think we’ve all done that at one time or another, so don’t be ashamed.
I will dearly miss the food you can eats. I hope someone else picks up the mantle or the spatula or whatever.
