…fool’s gold [DOT 1/4/20]

…maybe it’s just because I didn’t get my act together but I’m going to claim the reason this thing is not like the others is because we’re in that limbo that exists between the dawn of April 1st down under & around mid-day on the US west coast when we can all settle down & pretty much assume that we’ve identified who has & hasn’t been fooled this year

…because you can’t even trust the BBC with a day like this

…in fact you pretty much can’t be sure who might be aiming to gotcha who

  1. My bff works nights. When she got home this morning, she sent all her kids a fake notice from the governor of Ohio that says Ohio is making all kids repeat the grade they are in now next year. Then she went to bed. She a) pranked her kids and b) also her husband because he’s going to have to deal with them when they get up.

  2. Y’all – I’m alive and ok. A couple of you have privately reached out to me and I really feel touched about it. I haven’t been doing CUNT b/c I flat out can’t process my anger right now and shit is really looking grim here in New Orleans (soon to be everywhere) so I’m trying to stay calm.

I actually am awaiting results of a COVID test; I have had a cough and some headaches but no fever. Miraculously, somehow, New Orleans has been able to be less stingy with their tests, so a friend of mine who works in a hospital went and got a test with very few symptoms (they get priority), and afterward, she told me I would be able to do it, so I did. Felt kind of stupid, but then I saw they had such reduced demand in tests that they consolidated our testing sites the next day. They tested my symptomless husband just because he was with me. I hope that is good news for our curve. Our death rate has been much higher than other places though. 🙁

I feel OK…if this turns out to be COVID it seems to be really minor. So on one hand I’m kind of hoping it is (and that it stays that way). But I don’t know.

My god, can April Fool’s die in a fire?!

    • I’m glad you and your husband are okay for now, and were tested. I’ve been following the news and it must be very scary in New Orleans these days. I was concerned about your absence but didn’t want to you to feel pressured to comment or post right now with everything going on. Stay safe.

    • hey hello. I thought about you last night! I thought ‘hey, I haven’t seen any C.U.N.T. posts lately. come to think of it, I haven’t seen any hello comments either’.

glad you’re doing OK. although if you have it and it is mild, as you say, it may be better so your body will be immune afterwards? you don’t have any elderly/vulnerable people in your home, right?
