Alabama beat Auburn at the end of the game in a textbook example of why the prevent defense is idiotic.
Auburn rushed only two guys, and then Alabama sent all of its receivers into one corner of the endzone except one, who was in the other corner with tons of space and was able to haul in the pass because the QB had all day to time and place his throw where only the receiver could catch it. Auburn made things worse because they made no effort to double team the receiver, but in that situation it’s hard to say it would have made it a much harder throw.
