  1. The original Mr And Mrs Smith is one of the few movies I stopped watching halfway thru because it was terrible.

Good luck to Danny Glover and Maya Erskine.

The Shirley Bassey style theme ids this as spy show if you didn’t remember the original.

As for Axel F… only so many times one can go to that well unless Axel F is now the black police chief screaming about the mayor all up in his ass.

      • My cousin became a father thanks to hanging out on a bunch of houseboats in Party Cove at Lake of the Ozarks.

He’s not the only person I know who brought that sort of surprise home after hanging out there.

        • Intriguing! But I’ve already stolen enough men away from their partners (including Better Half, but that’s another story for another time.) I don’t need to start doing that with women, as if any woman would have me at this point. I did propose once to a woman. This was during the Clinton-era Defense of Marriage Act times. Good times, I assure you. To this day every time I see a cigar I recoil in horror.

Anyway, BH and I couldn’t have any legal union and I had a woman friend whom I was very close to and she had just broken up with her boyfriend—again, another story for another time. But she never married the guy, and was a free-spirited creature with absolutely no kind of health-care benefits, and I said, “I’ll marry you and you can get on my corporate health care plan!” It didn’t sound so crazy at the time. But then ultimately New York was dragged kicking and screaming into the modern age so we abandoned that plan and I domestic partnered with BH. I would have had to divorce her, my friend, because you need to swear that you’re not married or currently domestic partnered off with anyone else to get the certificate. God knows what the “plural marriage” Mormons and the Muslims do. I suppose they don’t really believe in civic marriages. The world really is an interesting place.

    • houseboats are typically moored in canals or river harbours….they really dont move much

you know….barring a fucking typhoon or some shit

      they float…but they arent boats

i dont think you’d have to worry about sea sickness

  2. Best of luck to Shohei… As star powered as their lineup will be, the Dodger starting pitching is pretty fragile even with Tyler Glasnow (lot of TJ candidates/shoulder surgery rehabbers) and the defense slightly suspect.

  3. My wife always made me video when my youngest got gassed at the dentist.  She would get super weird.  That “house boat” home is pretty nice, I used to kayak by those all the time but got tired of almost being run over by seaplanes.  A friend of a friend knew the guy that owned the Sleepless in Seattle one but the above one is way nicer.  I am thinking since Hammer gets seasick, maybe just a view of the water on a calm West Vancouver bay would be nice for our clubhouse?

  4. …sure…but…the header pic

…is that popping…locking…or the early stages of “doing the worm”?

…& why in earth does some recalcitrant part of my mind seem to care?

…also…the ostrich pillow is one thing but sitting sideways in a swing & pretending it’s the world’s least comfortable hammock is for the birds

  5. Unrrlated to the topics at hand….

And I KNOW the picture is low-quality (it was the best I could do before she flew!), but would all of y’all think this birb is a Red-Tailed Hawk, or a  Northern Harrier?

    https://photos.app.goo.gl/itAgfDCNc2UBuYp5A

It flies quite a bit *lower* than most of the Red-tails I’ve ever seen. It lives *somewhere* near the Preschool where I work, because I’ve seen it swoop over us in the parking lot as we take the kids to their parents z FEW times, the last few weeks😉

And it also *sounds* like a Harrier–the calls are more of a short “Kir”/”Kew” spund, than the typical longer Red-Tail call that folks think is abandoned Eagar in movies & TV shows…

It moved in last year or so, and the preferred foods of Harriers being mice WOULD very much make sense, because we have z biiiiit of z mouse problem ’round these parts–so there IS plenty of food for it to catch & eat.

The tail is why I figure she’s a Harrier, rather than a Red-Tail… the times I’ve seen her flying, she has z barred/striped tail, as opposed to the Red’s “solid” colored one.

      • There’s an old boy lives up the ridge from us who’s a licensed master falconer.  He trains red-tails and hunts with them.  I watched one of his snatch a flying squirrel right out of the sky.  He also plays a mean autoharp.

      • @LoveShaq, she’s about the size of a redtail… the Cooper’s hawks I’ve seen have usually been a bit smaller, and more blue/grey-ish in color…. where she is DEFINITELY that “reddish-brownish” color on her upper-wings & back.

And the other reason I figured she *wasn’t* a Cooper’s Hawk, was that the *shape* of her tail is that classic wide/”wedge” shape that Red-Tails have, not the longer “rectangular”/narrow one like Cooper’s hawks have.
