ive been to silverstone…would never go to zandvoort….i try to avoid the orange army at all costs…..and tbh zandvoort is a traffic nightmare on a normal summers day… f1 is hell
and as a final nail in the coffin zandvoort banned the sale of alcohol in shops between 3 pm and 7 am meaning if you want to have drinks your gonna be paying festival prices
and normal amsterdam prices are already insane….thats gonna be round a tenner a pint…fuck that
if im going to blow a whole lot of money on f1 again…im going to singapore or japan to watch…..probably still be cheaper than my beer bill at zandvoort
tho i will say….this year..zandvoort has gone full on scorched earth on trying to deal with the traffic… banning car traffic to the area save for a few license holding companies (suppliers and the local taxi cabs….i assume residents too…but not sure) trains running every 5 minutes from amsterdam central to zandvoort…and a fleet of buses taking care of the rest
i havent heard of any major issues yet…tho the slightly less local cabbies are seriously pissed off at the missed revenue and may set up blockades
The dreaded inverted W (not M) pitching motion was brought up frequently about Strasburg in the scouting reports I read on the guy in 08/09. I hoped they were wrong, but it seems those scouts were right about him being brilliant till the injuries would be too much. Like Chris Sale (another guy with a physically demanding motion) a shooting star till it all crashed.
The problem is that using the inverted W motion generates power/velocity.
I figure the MLB doesn’t care they’re burning out guys they need and those same guys don’t care as long as it gets them to the promised land. Probably why so many pitchers end up on the injury list (Shoei Ohtani is going for his SECOND Tommy John surgery (elbow ligament repair) in five years!)
I assume the MLB just shrugs and goes “welp, we’re not turning their brains into cottage cheese like the NFL is, so who cares what happens below the neck to them.”
That really stinks about Ohtani. He’s so good as a hitter that you wonder if his future is pitching just a handful of games a year.

Lot of pitchers come back better after having their UCL fixed with Tommy John surgery (even a second one). I wouldn’t count Ohtani’s pitching career out just yet.

The restoration on that house in Spain looks awfully sterile. But I appreciate all of the solar panels. I’m sort of surprised they don’t mention it as far as I can see, because that must make a big dent in the utilities.
The big name NBA players (at least the older ones) don’t want to get hurt & would rather rest. They will show up for the more prestigious Olympics but not worth getting hurt or being burned out before the NBA season. FIBA is really physical too, they let much harder fouls go.
FIBA tournaments can be weird too. Guys can go wild in tournament games who never do much either in the NBA or the big European leagues. It’s almost like a different sport sometimes.
Oh…but aside from the F1 I have an Easter egg hunt this weekend
