    • whats the rules on white again? something about labour day?

do the rules apply if you dont have labour day?

not that it matters much to me as i never wear white for very long…even when i wear white…is impossible to keep white things white for more than 3 seconds….

      • @Farscythe Of course I know this information (rolls eyes at self and useless knowledge). One wears white between Memorial Day (late May) and Labor Day (early September). It is thought to be especially abhorrent to wear white shoes or carry white purses any other time of year. It began in the late 1800’s, and was a symbol of wealth, often worn by city folk who had vacation homes. In related fashion faux pas, patent (shiny) leather was also relegated to the summer months. Southern folks kept stretching the allowable white window, as it was hot there for many months. Northern folks (this started in New York) turned up their noses at their lack of social etiquette. Northern garment district fashion mavens crossed the great white divide by introducing winter white, an eggshell white with a slight cream undertone, to enable southern fashionistas to wear light colors for longer periods. Winter white has become a very classy look, again frequently warn by the wealthy. As for me, I spill things and have dogs, so I wear black, navy, gray, and brown, all year.

        • thank you @elliecoo

i should have known it was something the ‘high class’ came up with

but yeah…likewise..spill all the things..have cats…and the part of the brain some people have that says im wearing white…better not tinker with oily things is missing in my case….also white shoes with the amount of rain we get is special kind of insanity….i dont want to know how much effort it takes the nike brigade to keep their shoes spotless….but i have better things to do

  1. Wolverhampton is on a different path than Brighton:

La Vuelta update: Wout Van Aert is Wout Van Out (or Wout Van Ouch – so many ways to go with this)

I watch this guy on the regular, and a large part of this vid is a tour of the MKS pedal factory outside Tokyo. I find it all fascinating.

If I ever visit or move to Winnipeg, it will be The Weakerthans’ fault, and I will hate winter even more strongly:

    • Very true! One of my best friends is an Everton fan, and his message last Saturday, after the debacle against … Bournemouth? …, was, “I think that game broke me.”

Wolves are two spots above them, so, oof.

  2. Come be my neighbor!  You can even fly in on your seaplane, I know you have one!

I enjoyed last night’s game even though I am getting a little tired of KC.  Seahawks should be better than the “experts” are predicting but I’m not delusional.

UW moving to the Big 10 (really Big 18) sucks ass!  The Pac12 network is now dead & I don’t get the Big 10 network so can’t watch their games.  People around here are pissed off!

    • College football is so bad right now, they should just blow it up. Even though I have Peacock, I will not be watching Boise State at Oregon this weekend.
