  1. I knew that TOPPS still existed because I was at a party (here we go again) and met a woman who had recently mored to NYC. I asked what her motivation was. She was a designer for TOPPS and they moved their operation; they were upstate I think. I told her I had never collected baseball cards and didn’t know anything about baseball. She said, “please stay by my side because a lot of people go nuts when they find this out about me and want to spend hours jabbering baseball trivia at me.”

    • I knew they still existed because there is a card shop in a plaza near me, and an acquaintance works there. Like Cousin Matthew, I’ve never owned a single card and have no interest in them whatsoever.

  2. Re: Mike Richards. It’s high time everyone realized that trying to seem “funny” and “edgy” can have long-term consequences when you record your behavior on the Internet. That’s why I don’t post on Twitter any more, and generally keep my social media posts (when I make them) mundane. You don’t need someone pulling up your Twitter feed in a job interview.

    • Nope nope.

As much as I love the karma of this one, just nope. I can understand denying ICU space if the patient is deteriorating very fast and they don’t think they can make it and there are other patients coming in who can probably pull through. But not this.

If someone gets AIDS because they share needles, do we deny them medical care? What if they are in a car wreck because they’re drunk driving? We shouldn’t go down the path of moralizing ICU access.

  3. *twitches* came home to find a daughter unexpectedly home for the weekend….well…there goes my plan for mushroom madras for dinner…which she apolegized for…anyhoos..went back to shop for the ingredients needed for eggfried noodles with paksoi and peppers..and got to cooking….she hounded me in the kitchen trying to figure out what i was making and what the scrambled eggs were for…
now bare in mind this is already some 2 hours after initially learning i had to change my dinner plans but yeah…got the food out on the table and was about to put the bowls out and its….. oh…you dont have to put a bowl out for me….i had a late lunch

i am pretty sure it would count as self defense now….at the very least mitigating circumstances…. like…getting probation would probably be fair….but no more than that
