You may remember Kratu the rescue dog from his participation in the Crufts dog show agility competitions. This year was his third and final appearance, where he again failed fabulously. Kratu isn’t constrained by rules and routine. His boundless enthusiasm and capacity for love have been life changing for his human Tess Eagle Swan. Kratu is a very good boy.

My hound is not a happy girl today. She sprained, possibly broke her tail. She must have done it playing at the park yesterday and it got worse throughout the day and evening. Around 11 she started jumping up on the bed and whining. She didn’t want out, couldn’t figure out what she wanted. This morning I noticed her tail was down and sort of off to one side. We went to the vet, he didn’t see an obvious fracture but the base is swollen and sore. They’re treating it with antiinflammatories and pain meds. If she doesn’t improve in a few days they’ll x ray it. Poor baby.
So vacation is postponed, maybe canceled.

The puppy we’re fostering is past the cute stage and now just in the pain in the ass stage. And today is one of those days for her. Our poor full time dog just got a long series of growls aimed at her for no reason, which is kind of funny because the puppy would get torn apart by full time dog if she wanted. Oh the drama.
I swear sometimes they’re worse than children.
