I don’t know what the weather is like in your neck of the woods, but here in the ATL – we’ve had a very mild summer and these days we’ve even hit the 50’s in the evenings – so it feels like that time. Yes, Pumpkin Spice everything time. Pumpkin Spice latte. Pumpkin Spice Martini. Pumpkin Spice Margarita(?!) Pumpkin Spice IPA. You name it – it comes in Pumpkin Spice. Including one of us – waves to @Pumpkinspies.
How about a Pumpkin Spice White Russian –
Then there’s the Pumpkin Spice Imperial Stout – Saint Arnold Pumpkinator
From the Saint Arnold site:
Pumpkinator is a big, black, full of spice, full of flavor beer. Originally released in 2009 as Divine Reserve No. 9, it is an imperial pumpkin stout and our answer to how a pumpkin beer ought to taste. It is brewed with a combination of pale two row, caramel and black malts, Cascade and Liberty hops for a background hop flavor, pumpkin for a rich mouthfeel, molasses, brown sugar, spices and dry-spiced to make it feel like you just walked into your mom’s kitchen while she was cooking 37 pumpkin pies. It is the most expensive beer we have brewed.
So, good folk of Deadsplinter – if you’re not drinking a Pumpkin Spice something this evening – what are you drinking?
paulaner….its a lil pricey…but nice
also ive been watching the neighbourlady pacing up and down the street chainsmoking looking pretty pissed off….figured there was maybe something amiss there as it sounded like theres a party on at hers
but when i stepped out for a smoke and to maybe ask her whats up…i realized what i thought was a party…is actually just 4 or 5 inebriated sounding teen girls
figure shes probably just pacing around outside so she doesnt strangle the lot of them
somebody might be regretting the decision to allow her daughters friends over me thinks
Maybe they took all her booze.
tbh….im not sure she even drinks
smokes a loooooot of pot tho
(i know coz sometimes i get a little stoned in my backyard)
I love pumpkin pie, pumpkin bread, pumpkin French toast but I’m not a fan of pumpkin spice beverages. I could be talked into a Pumpkin Spice White Russian for fall though, maybe once. But it’s still in the 80’s here here so not until sweater weather.
I don’t drink that much – but the Pumpkin Spice White Russian might entice me too. But I’ve been off sugar for a week – so it may just be I really want something sweet.
Pumpkin spice blend seasoning is great for yogurt or chia pudding, too! That’s one of my big fall enjoyments.
I know it’s trendy to bash pumpkin spice, but 2-3 pumpkin beers or coffees or ice creams every fall is pretty awesome. Just not every day.
I like pumpkin stuff. But I am saving my drinking for tomorrow.
Yea, I don’t understand why all the pumpkin beers come out now, when it’s 80, when it’s waayyy too hot to drink.
theres a too hot to drink?
i have the english gene of oooo suns out…to the pub!
and the dutch gene of meh…its fucking miserable out….better have a drink to cheer myself up
(incidentally im pretty sure those are swappable)
Too hot for pumpkin beers. They’re best on a 50 degree crisp fall day. Not 80 end of summer.
why?
are they served warm?
…pretty sure they used to say warm beer was a british thing?
…don’t recall ever being served one, though
i’d wager it comes from ales
whilst not exactly warm…they arent chilled either
It’s getting cool here in the evenings right now – so I think people are starting to get Autumnal fever.
…honestly I’m drinking the whisky I’ve been wanting since somebody mentioned prorogation on the DOT…did manage to hold off for a little while at least?
I am not drinking tonight because tomorrow I’m going to the art fair and I will probably eat or drink excess calories there.
