Happy Hour [10/4/20]

You don’t have to drink alone.

Sunday is Easter. During quarantine that means no restaurant brunch. But that doesn’t mean I won’t be drinking endless Mimosas. And watching movies. I never really understood why The Ten Commandments was an Easter tradition. YouTube will be streaming Jesus Christ Superstar the Musical free, and NBC is broadcasting one of their weird live remakes of the same at 7:00 pm, starring John Legend. And while I do like the music from the show I think I’m gonna go old school and watch Harvey , a story about a man and his imaginary 6 foot bunny friend, on YouTube. Or maybe Cookies Fortune, an Easter murder mystery/ comedy directed by the great Robert Altman, and starring Glen Close, Charles S.Dutton, and Ned Beatty on Netflix.

What does your Easter holiday look like in isolation? Or how did you celebrate Passover?

  2. Since, Mother Nature is the only deity that I acknowledge – I will be planting native plants for pollinators. My perennials are the only thing I’ve ever seen rise from the dead – so this Easter is for them.

    • You joke, but one year my sister brought to my parent’s house a cake decorated with a white chocolate crucifix laying on top. My always irreverent brother picked it up, broke Jesus’ legs and replaced it saying, “ there, now it’s more authentic .” My mother was not amused and the traditional holiday arguing began.

  3. I can’t watch a movie online. sit down for 1.5-2 hours? impossible. too many distractions! I keep hitting pause or I forget and keep hitting rewind. bottom line: I never finish what I started…

  4. Keitel dropped of the Easter baskets to his cousin’s children from an acceptable distance. Had my son and his family’s mailed last week. We generally host between 12 and 15 folks at each holiday so I am thankful that I will not be doing a full house cleaning, massive cooking, and too many loads of dishes. That said, not seeing them all is kind of sad. We will garden (Keitel), do income taxes (me) and try some pasta or fish recipes. Plus I made MegMeg’s classic chocolate chip cookies this morning. Wishing you all a safe and healthy holiday. 🐇🐇🐇
