Happy Hour [12/8/22]

I need a drink

Found In a Library Book is Oakland Public Library librarian Sharon McKellar’s website. I haven’t been in a library since the pandemic. And I download most of my reading material. But this makes me want to check out physical books again.

Would read
Cheyenne probably is mean
Hope this wasn’t a winning ticket

Have you lost or found anything in a borrowed book, Deadsplinters?

  1. I love the Swingin Utters, they rock! Never found anything cool in library books but used text books were fun when you found notes.  I love our library but haven’t been in a while, need to fix that.  Took a friend out to lunch for his bday & had a beer.  Hmmmm, get work done or early happy hour?  At least I should go mow lawn before cracking another coldie?

  2. I found a five shilling note printed in Philadelphia in July 1776 in an old Bible once. I looked up the value once and it was something like $25 in the present, which may well not have kept up with inflation.

  3. Oh, heavens. I’m married to a librarian. Things found in library books:

    1. Semen

    2. $100 bill

    3. Toothpicks

    4. Toilet paper/Kleenex

    5. Band-aids

    6. Condom in a wrapper. (Not with the semen, obvs)

    7. Medical bills, personal mail, Social Security numbers

    8. An astonishing variety of actual bookmarks, both cool and mundane

    9. Photographs

    10. Grocery store lists

    I’m sure there’s more that I’m forgetting.
