Hello my fellow DeadSplinterites (DeadSplinterians?) to the end of another week!
Huzzah!
Friday the 13th is considered an auspicious date. Why? The answer is kinda hard to pin down, which makes the Wikipedia entry on it a pretty interesting read: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Friday_the_13th. In particular, I love the idea of some cultures coming up with Tuesday the 17th as being a bad omen. Tuesday is my least favorite day. Maybe I’m on to something?
But back to Friday the 13th. Is it really an unlucky day? Is it superstition? Just a little-sticious? I don’t know, but since today is a notable date, I figured I’d open the floor for people to sound off on a very, VERY important issue.
Which is: Who’s the greatest horror villain of all time?
(And since there’s enough horror out in the real world, I’ll say fictional only, please.)
Personally, I like the sheer silent unstoppability of Michael Myers, especially because his original mask was a bleached out Captain James T. Kirk mask from “Star Trek.” That’s the good stuff!

…off the top of my head…based on how creeped out I was by the time the credits rolled
…I’d go with michael keaton in pacific heights
…& some guy whose name I’d have to look up that’s the sometimes-vivified corpse in “Das cabinet des Dr. Caligari”…which is an old silent black & white bit of german cinema
…but…& I sort of lean to it having to do with that part of your brain that thinks the past happened in black & white & is generally not to be relied upon…leading to things I’d expect in different contexts landing as unexpected…hands down it’s the film that I’ve been most freaked out by to date?

friday the 13th is pretty lucky for me
had the whole day off….gave work the reason of i have the hours and am super suspicious
didnt have to give them a reason…..but the app gives me a box to put in my reason if i want to….so i have to feed it bullshit
i actually took the day off coz i knew the weather was going to be shite and didnt feel like swimming to work
