Are you still tossing your cans in the recycling? Take some inspiration from the late John Milkovisch, who spent 18 years decorating his home with Coors and Texas Pride empties.
Or repurpose your tinnies into patio furniture.
If you prefer your brew from bottles or drink wine instead, there are a number of garden projects like fences, bottle trees, and planters you can create, even walls.
What are you waiting for, Deadsplinters? Drink up, it’s for art. What medium are you working in this afternoon?
During car-camping trips with friends, we have joked about making boxed wine forts….
That would make for some good vacations photos, lol.
tins actually…not planning to do anything with sheetmetal/aluminium in my spare time tho
that is work stuff….strictly paid only
wood is nice to work with tho….i should order myself a couple casks of whiskey and beer and turn them into a nice litte dining set once empty :p
(im dutch…so a couple means 3 to 5….or so im told by foreigners)
Since I live in Bourbon country there are some artists who make beautiful furniture and home goods from old bourbon barrels, but they’re damned expensive. One year I bought all my nieces and nephews cutting boards. That’s all I could afford.
hmm…i probably really should make that dining set then
or maybe garden sets made of old pallets…i have the know how…and a limitless suply of shit pallets (hey thanks work)
lord knows i need a side earner
You should give it a try. Pics if and when you do.
My friend and I made a fireplace table out of a wine barrel, looks just like this but a full barrel, not cut…
I have another table from a barrel that is filled with corks under glass. I still have a few barrels for other projects, I think my next is cut it lengthwise and make a coffee table. Good to have friends that own wineries but now more people bug them for barrels since the furniture thing has taken off.
So what keeps that insulated to keep it from bursting into flame?
Ours is a propane burner in a stainless steel salad bowl filled with glass. It really doesn’t get that hot on the bottom, just where the flame comes out of the glass. Here’s some better pictures of some closer to mine. I have a granite table with the center cut out for the salad bowl.

That’s beautiful. The bourbon barrels are very hard to come by, I imagine it’s the same with wine. I do like some of the bottle walls and windows. They’re pretty in a rough, rustic way. But that doesn’t go with my home.
Some impressive bottle houses out there!

although my house would probably look more like this if I wasn’t married…

This happy hour I will be drinking:
Varietal Dammit Bobby! West Coast IPA
6.5% ABV – This West Coast IPA was originally a collab with Tyler Brown, owner of Barley Brown’s (Baker City, OR) & our sales rep Bobby Eirich. When the brew day came Bobby was sick so it was just Tyler & Chris at the brew. Our thanks to Tyler for providing the Galaxy hops for this beer! It’s still a collaboration in spirit!
That hotel is pretty cool, but yeah, I can’t imagine Mrs. Shaq would be okay with that, any more than I would. I like this guy’s take on the bottle house.
That would be so awesome for a hot tub!
Hot chocolate. Just a little splash of rum to ward off the chill.
And if the temp drops, add more rum.
Oh, shoot, I should’ve added that I’m drinking this:
That looks interesting. 🙂
