It’s International Beer Day. My brew knowledge is minimal at best so I’m counting on the rest of you to carry the conversation. According to Vinepair, the world’s best-selling beer is Snow, available only in China.

i mean… the belgians are our somewhat dimwitted brethren….and we like to poke fun at them
but…when it comes to beer and chocolate they have us beat for sure
I’ve wondered why the difference is so big considering the trade and fighting going back and forth for so long.
Duvel is great — I tend to like the lighter Belgians more than the darker ones. It’s hard for me to drink more than a smaller amount of the raisin-y clove-y ones.

…duvel & orval & such are great & all but the stronger trappist stuff I find a bit more work than the chimay…which goes down pretty easy when the opportunity presents itself?
I used to drink chimay, saw it at the store the other day and almost picked a bottle up. But they aren’t exactly giving that stuff away here and I wasn’t sure I’d enjoy it.
Back when I drank beer I did like Belgians.

Gulden draak was good stuff. The Belgian wits are my wheelhouse though. Franzizkaner, allagash white, hoegaarden, saison Dupont..
I still drink wheat beer occasionally, it’s so refreshing on a hot day.
I recommend you come see me in the land of hops & I will take you to some of the worlds best breweries. Â Today I was at Alibi Ales in Tahoe but will be back in hop heaven tomorrow night.
And most popular beer is only about population & availability, not quality. Â Best beers are made in small batches by home brewers & craft beer breweries.

My fucking Mastercard that I use for Venmo has started adding a $10 cash advance fee when I use that card to pay for something on Venmo. Didn’t realize this when I paid the lawn guys the other day. I’ve used this card for Venmo for at least 2 years and this is a new development that is some real bullshit.
