If I am drinking beer I prefer a Grolsch or a Foster’s Lager or a Guinness. But mostly I like whiskey. Happy beer day to all, cheers!
@Elliecoo I used to like beer when I was younger, my fave then was Whitbread Ale. But my tastes have changed. I prefer a good bourbon these days.
its beer day?

Link fail yet again.
Do your pups guard your beer like that?
I have never had Sapporo, is it worthy of such a good commercial?
Not the ones you get in Canada which are brewed by Sleeman in Guelph, Ontario.
Then I’m not missing anything. It is a very cool ad though.
I may be misremembering this but here’s two interesting facts about beer:
1. At some point Russia, I think this was under Putin and not really enforced and then abandoned, cracked down on alcohol. Vodka was the main target, and you can imagine how well that went over. Beer got an exemption because it’s not alcohol.
2. As Egypt Islamified over the centuries alcohol became more and more taboo. The Romans had vineyards up near the coast at Alexandria; they’re all long gone. Here again an exception was made for beer, because possibly the oldest recipe known to us is one for beer, and that came out of Egypt. I believe it was found inscribed on a wall inside one of the pyramids. So beer is/was considered part of the national cultural identity, yet you don’t think of Egyptians as being “lager louts.” Although who knows, maybe Cleopatra used to throw wild keggers aboard the royal barge.
I’m sure she did.
Marc Antony invented the walk of shame.
I don’t have one at the moment, but I’m a fan of dark beers like Modelo Negro and the German dunkel beers. I had one at Irish Fest once that had an almost coffee-like flavour to it, and it had some heft to it, too! Sadly, I can’t remember what it was.
I like Stella, Heineken, Modelo Especial, and Corona for lighter beers.
IPA’s are grooosssss. They have a nasty, skunky taste and smell to them. And the standard American beers… Bud, Miller, etc…. are just too blah and too bitter all at the same time.
Beer is just too heavy for me. I can power through one but if I’m looking for a buzz, and I usually am, I need something that goes down easier.
Hows the new little edition to the family doing, Smacks?
Beer is an occasional thing for me. I can probably count on one hand the number of times I’ve had a beer by myself! Every once in awhile, I get a taste for it and buy a single can.
(Duh… just realized you asked me a question…)
Baby is doing great 🙂 I actually just had him here for the last couple of hours while his mama went and got her hair done. 3 bottles in 2 1/2 hours! He must be growing 🙂
That’s wonderful. ❤️
almost coffee like flavour?
guinness?
Nope, not Guinness, although that is a tasty one. I really wish I knew what it was!
Finally my holidays are here! I’m drinking a Mirage Male Entertainer.

@Loveshaq I assume this is one of the High Holy Days for you! I hope your beer guy is back from vacation.
Yesterday is my biggest beer day holiday but unfortunately, I had to give my NOLA relatives an all day tour of my area and didn’t get to have too many IPA’s. They are not drinkers and Trumpers so it was an interesting day of tongue biting and waiting for that end of the night IPA (ok, 3!) No time to visit my beer guy today, we leave early in the morning for CA. Hopefully I will get to hit all my favorite breweries and nothing will get shut down with these fucking fires! Current air quality where I am staying is 492-Hazardous

Have fun on your trip!
We bought a new kayak today, a Vibe Sea Ghost 110. I wasn’t really looking to drop that kind of cash but a semi good deal came up.
Sweet! Looks like a fishing kayak, do you fish? Ride on top style is not the best choice for the PNW but I use my bro-in-laws in Tahoe sometimes when it’s too rough to paddleboard. Have fun and wear a life jacket!
@Loveshaq I do not. But Mr P does. I’ll take over the 10’ Liquid Logic as my own. We have 3 canoes too. I don’t go out on the water as much anymore. I’m over the whole primitive camping thing.
Wait. Wait wait wait. NOLA meaning New Orleans, the Crescent City, right? They don’t drink and they’re Trumpers? Actually come to think of it my freshman year roommate was from NOLA and he was fairly conservative, but my God could that man drink. His parents used to send up these packets of something from a famous bar down there and with it you make Hurricanes. We used to throw the best parties, in a room the size of a La Guardia airport bathroom stall that had bunk beds. I had the lower bunk so that’s where the punch bowl would go; his top bunk was where we stored the supplies, and our desks were where we put out the snacks.
It was my godmother and her husband. I got the feeling he used to be an alcoholic since many of his stories were about partying too much. My godmother used to drink but I assume she doesn’t because of her new husband’s situation. Yes, NOLA is New Orleans.
