Happy Hour [9/12/22]

I need a drink

More office holiday party fun! Police in Traverse City were called to break up a fight between party attendees costumed as the Grinch and a reindeer. Which one of Santa’s reindeer wasn’t specified, but I’m hoping it was Comet. He’s had it coming for a long time.

But could the Grinch really win against a reindeer? They’re strong and horned. But the Grinch has opposable thumbs and no doubt fights dirty. What do you think, Deadsplinters?

  1. …my money’s on the grinch

…although…I guess it depends on how well I’m interpreting seuss cartoons in terms of what size he’d be relative to a reindeer?

  2. I can’t believe this is even up for debate.

For one, the Grinch learned his lesson!  Ok? Ok!

    Two, reindeer are docile.

Neither the reindeer nor the Grinch would be up for fighting. Only stupid humans dressed as them would and for that I say they’re both losers because as adults they should, as a licensed child educator would say, “use their words.”

  3. I went to a local coffee shop to get a back of their seasonal blend for a friend’s Christmas gift.

OH NO OH DARN I just had to get an iced coffee and blueberry muffin while I was there.

      • To make or set up? I’ve got setup down to a couple of hours.

Making is a MUCH more difficult question to answer. I started making them when my daughter was 5 or 6, and she’s 20 now. Originally I made the Grinch, Max, and Cindy Lou Who, and hung them on my garage. That was … unsatisfactory. I used to travel a lot, and we’d get storms that knocked them down while I was out of town. I switched to a yard display and made the tree and couple more Whos. I’ve added to the Whos every year (that’s not the most current set).

But that doesn’t answer your question, really. My good friend down the block asked for a Grinch and I made one for her this year. It probably took about 8-10 hours total. You have to do things and then let them dry, set, etc. So it was a week and a half, start to finish, but the actual time working on one Grinch is probably 8-10 hours.

The Whos take significantly less time. Except for Doctor Who (not pictured) because I had to make both him and a Tardis. I need to find more current photos.
