What food(s) or meal(s) mean comfort to you?
I have a list:
Chicken and rice with a salad on the side.
Split Pea Soup and Garlic Bread
Bulgogi Bibimbap (Stir fried beef with Korean side dishes on rice aka the rice bowl)
Salmon (or any other broiled fish) Bibimbap
Spaghetti and meatballs
Meatloaf and mashed potatoes
Chinese beef with broccoli
Outside of the Chinese beef with broccoli, I prefer the homemade version. Can’t make it like they do in Chinese restaurants.
stuff i didnt have to cook?
a proper sunday roast?
honestly…..if you wake me up with a full english….i will love you forever i dont care what sex you are
I don’t know about those baked beans for breakfast.
clearly you dont drink enough
Yeah, it is perfect hangover food.
Roast duck wonton noodle soup. Raw oysters. Fresh figs with parmesan and prosciutto. I definitely lean into those intense savory flavors.
I’m getting hungry. Still have two more hours on shift.
Unfortunately, I have none of those things.
Regular hamburger bun, thick slice of ham, american cheese, and plain yellow mustard. – Memories of my grandmother.
Chocolate cake with peanut butter icing. – my mother
Beef & cheddar hot pocket, kosher dill pickles, and grandma utz’s potato chips. – my diet the first couple of years living on my own.
Hamburger bbq. – Elliecoo
A cake sized Reese’s cup? Damn I want a slice.
theres only one thing that smells like bacon and thats huh?
the smell is so good…..fucking spot on
taste is almost there too……holy shit veggi options got good
A lot of meals make me very happy – often directly related to veggies I picked from my garden.
But if you want to talk about the kind of meal that just flips all the serotonin switches in my brain? Dal makhani. The first time I had that particular dal was about 5 years ago and holy fuck it was like firing up all the neurons of childhood comfort meals despite having none of the ingredients or flavors of food I had growing up.
I don’t understand it, but I still love that about it. All dals are fantastic, I’m usually happy to commune with a bowl of dal. But that particular dal? Beyond words.
