DIY Glass Cleaner:
Courtesy of Sedevilc:
1/4 cup rubbing alcohol
1/4 cup white vinegar
1 Tab cornstarch
2 cups waterMix in spray bottle. Shake before using, the cornstarch settles over time.
The Result:
Normally I wouldn’t turn someone’s comment into a post, but once I saw the results, had to share.
This super simple DIY recipe from Sedevilc ends up being approximately 4/5 of a 32oz (or 946ml) bottle, similar to what you would find at the grocery store.
If you’re like me, you’re pretty bad at leaving streaks on glass and mirrors. At first, it looks as though this isn’t going to work, but give it a few seconds of wiping and not only is the surface spotless, it is impossible to leave streaks.
What really impressed me is how well it cleaned the glass surface inside of my gas fireplace seen in the header image. I have never been able to get it so clean!
Is 1 Tab 1 Tablespoon?
I think it’s a tablespoon, but only because I’ve never heard of tabs of cornstarch. Unless it’s some Canadian thing…
that was my guess and it seemed to work!
> 1/4 cup rubbing alcohol
well, there may be a small problem* with the availability with that!
* there isn’t any! at least here…
🙂
> it is impossible to leave streaks.
for how long?
btw, would this be ok for anti-glare screens? I don’t see any nasty chemicals, so maybe/probably?
no clue…i don’t see why not?
Ahem . . . I have many things upon which you could continue the cleaning experiments. You know, as a scientific control. Feel free to start in the kitchen.
