Hi, friends!
The day got away from me, I had to go back to the DMV, that was a 2 hour failure, and I have no topics tonight.
Talk amongst yourselves!

The DMV. In this instance, I will, in fact, praise Florida for its DMV process. As long as you make an appointment, it’s sane, and relatively efficient.
God help you if you go to the DMV in Georgia. I waited in line for four hours three times, and I only lived there three years.
The best part is that in Missouri it’s completely fucking hit or miss by DMV, because they’re privatized.
The one near my old place? Had a check in system and sent you texts when you were next.
The one closest to me now? Has a check in system and tells you to go wait in your car because at any given time there’s 30 people or more ahead of you and 2 employees.
The one I go to? No check in system. No chairs. No HVAC and today we hit a new record high at 103 degrees. About 15 minutes away but rarely busy at all. Except today they only had 1 person doing anything with titles. And just when I got excited about being almost at the top of the line, there was an old fucker who had 5 goddamn titles to have changed.
Sounds like the Costco return line.
Maybe in Canada the line is bad because of your maple syrup internet (that’s what one of my coworkers refers to Rogers as).
The Costco I go to has no issues with their return lines. Well, week after Christmas notwithstanding.
The line at Costco sucks because we have a lot of low level scammers who complain about something and return it after eating 1/2 of it etc.
As for Robbers (that’s what I call Rogers) the internet went out for a few minutes soon after I read your comment. Better than several years earlier when an idiot drunk smashed into their local junction box and took out our Tv and internet for three days. Sad to say but it was three pretty long horrible days.
Georgia is a horror show. Years of neglect by Republicans have reduced any government office to a hollowed-out shell populated by angry zombies who go out of their way to be as nasty as possible.
candy cat broke her leg
shes probably going to become a tripod now
co workers think im crazy for spending a grand on an old cat…
17 or no…. sides from the leg she is perfectly happy…..im not putting a healthy cat down for a broken leg….
i am now pretty fucking low on savings tho…
better not break any more
We’ve fostered tripod dogs and they get around just fine.
We’ve taken care of our neighbor’s tripod dog a few times too. He’s a doctor for the military who works with amputees, and he brings in his dog sometimes to bond with patients.
Amputee animals do way better than amputee humans.
Candy cat is a very good girl; you are a good man @Farscythe. We have a three legged dog; she does fine. Upstairs is no problem; downstairs may result in a barrel roll and a thump so she gets carried down. I like my animals more than I like many people. (DeadSplinterites excluded of course.)
The best part of the DMV here is you rarely need to go. Most stuff you can do online or through a licensing office that is a breeze & you can make appointments at the actual DMV. Only time you should have to go in person is for your first license & even that, the tests can be done thru driving schools which is how most kids here do it.
That’s pretty much true here too. Renewals and whatnot can be done online. Eventually after X number of years you have to go in, but it’s reasonably painless. At least for now. Florida was not always a Republican hellscape. Within my memory we actually had Democratic legislatures that invested in infrastructure and government offices. It wasn’t until Rick Scott that things got bad, and even he didn’t fuck with the DMV. That will piss off the old people and that’s gonna fuck up any politician.
Yeah we got a bunch of dumbass things in Missouri that lead to DMV visits.
For example, when you buy a car you can’t roll the sales tax into the car loan and you have to go pay that and get your plates at the DMV (dealership only gives you temp plates).
@Farscythe the brown dog is the tripod.
Daaaaaaw
good looking doggos 🙂
My dad lost his glasses and I called who I thought was his eye doctor (my eye doc) and I found out he hasn’t been there in over a decade.
I asked who the eye surgeon who handled his cataract surgery. I found out from one sister that the doctor probably retired as he was almost as old as my dad.
Shit.
