…after all, the CDC is responsible for around 6% of the landmass of the globe & benefits at present from some three times the funding of the “equivalent” global organization…or to put it another way gets around $10Billion more to play with for that one strip between Canada & Mexico than the organization dedicated to “World Health”…during a *checks notes* global pandemic scenario…gets for the whole globe…including the US…the leader of which is such a business savant that he considers them poor value

Sunday is Covid cut day. I did my first ever self cut with hair clippers* this morning. Kind of sad how far things have fallen that a haircut makes me happy. And best of all I didn’t put anyone at risk due to my vanity.
*that took five weeks to get here from Amazon.
Hope it turned out ok! The Mr. won’t let me cut his hair, probably due to the fact that I sound entirely too gleeful at the prospect.
From what I’ve seen it’s okay (the back… uh maybe not.) I watched some Youtube videos on how to cut hair and they did the trick.
It’s not like I have a lot. Before the cut, it looked a bit like this (with much less on top) and I hated it.

Actually, Mrs. Butcher has told me how much she likes my hair longer. When we were first dating, it was really long, so I didn’t think she would like it getting long-ish again, but I was wrong. Yay for me.
Been cutting my hair since shortly after I graduated. It gets better with practice.

The one thing that strikes me about all these videos of people in pools and having mass gatherings?
Anecdotally, it seems like 99% of them are white people.
I’m not saying people of color aren’t going out and participating in this shit, but my God do I think white people outnumber the rest of us.
My friend who posted endlessly on FB about opening up and going to his cottage is that kind of moron.

Honestly? It’s over. People have decided to sacrifice the old and infirm, along with some of the others who just have bad luck. We’re going to have more spikes but we’re not ever going back into lockdown, period. By the time we have competent leadership, the vulnerable will be dead and the rest will have herd immunity and the only winner is Darwin. I’ll probably never be allowed to see my mother again, and she’s going to be one of the lucky ones who is protected and cared for. God help you (and them) if your parent(s) are in a shitty facility. I’m in a bad mood today. But hey, Old Yeller gets to play golf!
