I would love for period pads to exist that had adhesive that only sticks to underwear. And nothing else. At all.

So far, out of the ones I’ve Googled (admittedly *not* all of them yet!), there are only *two* which won’t be off patent, and available as generics, by 2026!!!
Farxiga was *supposed* to go off patent within the coming year… apparently it’s patent has been extended until 2028 (😠😡🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬, as a daily *taker* of it, for my ‘beetus!), it’s *already* available for about 1/3 the US price, as “Forxiga” in Canada & parts of Europe–which is *incredibly* frustrating, as someone who had to jump through *multiple* hoops & ended up having to have the insurance folks at my district do an internal “Override” of our prescription plan’s formulary, because I’ve been on it for literally *years* now, and am completely unable to take ANY of the formulary meds, because I either get terrible side effects, or they have a “may cause pancreatitis!” warning–and *that* makes me ineligible to take ’em🙃
I just DON’T understand, why there’s been soooooooo much bitchin’ and COMPLAINING that “this will mean NO NEW MEDS!!!!!”, when these are *NOT* new meds, and in just a few years, the Government *could* say “F.U!!!” to the pharma companies, and simply demand that the majority of Medicare patients simply go to the Generics which would be coming shortly after the patents expire (and they COULD tighten up patent extensions to ensure we bring Generics into the market, if they reeeeally wanted!)…
When I heard the list, it just baffled me, because while it IS great that we’re gonna negotiate, it *isn’t* like the Administration took a bunch of meds that are *ages* away from their Patent expiration dates.

The patent system in this country is a giant mess. Copyrights and trademarks too.
“No new medicines!!11!!!1” is definitely predicated on drug companies knowing that most consumers don’t realize how much of the R&D costs are covered by universities and govt funds.

I would like self-cleaning filters on cars, homes, vacuums, etc. I am always cleaning or replacing a damn filter on something out here, where the dust and pollen roam freely over this arid, wind-swept land.
