Well, today’s the day that the House votes to impeach the motherfucker already. Does it matter? Does anything?

For a refresher on where we are, per WAPO:

The House is poised to begin a historic day of debate that is expected to end with votes to impeach President Trump for his conduct toward Ukraine, making him only the third president in U.S. history to receive that sanction.
Based on public announcements, Democrats have enough votes to approve articles of impeachment against Trump for abuse of power and obstruction of Congress. Wednesday’s action will lead to a trial in the Republican-led Senate, where a two-thirds vote would be required to remove the president from office.
At the heart of the Democrats’ case is the allegation that Trump tried to leverage a White House meeting and military aid, sought by Ukraine to combat Russian military aggression, to pressure Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to launch an investigation of former vice president Joe Biden and his son Hunter Biden, as well as a probe of an unfounded theory that Kyiv conspired with Democrats to interfere in the 2016 presidential election.

The very stable genius will continue to prove his stability all day, seeing as how I’m already counting at least 21 tweets already today.

What’s the over/under on number of tweets today?
Say a PRAYER! Indeed.

  1. None of it matters because he’s not going anywhere.

That’s not to say that the Democrats shouldn’t have initiated the impeachment because no way can you just let that shit with Ukraine slide. But anyone with more than two brain cells to rub together should have zero illusions about the fact that as far as the Republicans are concerned, this is entirely tribal and they aren’t even remotely interested in, you know, upholding the rule of law.

  2. Oh Lord, Please smote Donald Trump while he rage tweets on the toilet. While you are at it, have McTurtle choke on the next leaf of lettuce he eats.
    Amen,
    -Nancy

  3. I think it’s going to feel weird to go through all of this, since it’s been anticipated and pre-determined for so long.

I hope they keep the inquiry open so they can keep doing investigations at least. Keep having hearings, exposing wrongdoing. Everything Trump thinks he’ll get away with after this needs to be watched and exposed to the public.

Technically they could do this again – impeach and send to Senate, if more stuff comes out. Honestly I doubt the Democrats would want to do that, and I see the point. If it fails in the Senate once, doing it over and over is going to ACTUALLY feel a little more “do-nothing-y” and honestly I wouldn’t blame them for that.

I heard a Trump supporter quoted on the radio that they were irritated that the Republican Senators weren’t going to do a real trial. He said he had a problem with them openly saying they weren’t going to follow the Constitution. Since nothing hurts Trump, maybe at least it will hurt the Senate? But that’s just one guy.

    • Hopefully more people are thinking like him, maybe just not saying it aloud.

Agree about the continuing investigations, as well as the open trial.

And one day, hopefully, it’ll all be on the record.
