I’m definitely the third guy above. Things? What do you mean, things?!?

Sprots!

Ladies if your man hasn’t ‘mined’ the diamond for your ring what are you even doing with him?

He found a 2.2-carat diamond in an Arkansas park. Then he proposed to his girlfriend.

OK but I kinda love it.

Have a great day!

  1. “Liden decided that when the time came, he would not pop into the mall to pick out a diamond ring in a jeweler’s glass case like most other people.

Instead, he would go into the wild to find his own materials: the diamond, the gold, the accompanying gemstones. Everything.”
Excuse me while I mine my own vomit.

  2. Ah yes, Eric Adams, the Great Uniter (and part-time commuter from Fort Lee, NJ, who uses various rental properties he owns but does not report income on and his Borough President’s office as addresses of convenience):

Whatever. He wasn’t my first choice but a random 4th-grader would make a better Mayor than de Blasio and I think on this all New Yorkers would agree.

    • i think it says skating still isnt mainstream…if anything id say its less popular now than it was back when tony hawk got his first video game…
the skateparks look a lot emptier to me anyways…
but then…i guess where i used to see people doing stuff all over the place now i mostly see people looking at phones whilst walking, cycling or driving…..i didnt check if the skaters were on the phone too….tho that seems like a good way to break a phone

      • I thought the popularity of the X Games might make it bigger but unless you are a skater, yeah, Tony Hawk is it.  Most non-surfers only know Kelly Slater though even he would tell you the 10 guys he thinks are better than himself.  I used to shoot some pro skaters and they are definitely a different breed but super fun to hang out with.   Our skate parks are still super popular but seems like street longboarding is more popular but I have a ton of hills around my area.

Also, yes, don’t skate and talk on your cell phone!  Good way to die!

        • even the X games have kind of fizzled out over here
shitty tv coverage…least on the freebie channels…i watch it when i can…coz its fun
and fwiw…i know kelly slater…and i dont even watch surfing…lol (again…shitty tv coverage here)
i have been seeing more longboards tho..they do seem to be getting more popular here for the moment…but i suspect its a bit of a fad..and will go when the next thing pops up…. like inline skates and parcour did before it
asbsolutely everywhere for a year or two….and the only a small group of dedicated stick with it whilst the rest head for the next cool thing

          • As it gets more affordable I think the next big things are going to be electric skateboards and scooters.  They are getting more popular with the scooter rentals but all sorts of those devices are going to get crazy popular when they are not so expensive.

            • i think you are right….and im not sure that prospect pleases me
as is they are kind of a menace to getting about without getting into an accident…..going to be a nightmare when everyones doing it…

Could be worse. Businesses are getting fed up with this no-vax bullshit. Houston Methodist health care facilities had 153 who were fired or resigned for refusing vaccination.

    https://www.dailykos.com/stories/2021/6/23/2036658/-COVID-19-vaccines-are-not-experimental-drugs-and-employers-can-absolutely-require-vaccination

Yes, employers can require vaccinations and no, COVID vaccinations are not “experimental drugs.”

And yes, businesses can require you to disclose your vaccination status. HIPA laws only apply to certain medical and insurance companies and only prevent THEM from sharing medical information without your consent.

      • Oh,  yes. My company has two lawyers on staff and for months they were declaring that we could not ask people about vaccination or require vaccination to attend our training classes. I didn’t bother arguing because we weren’t holding classes anyway, so why get into it? Of course, these are the same lawyers to whom I had to explain the difference between copyright and trademark. I have no idea what they are teaching in the law schools these days.

  4. Diamond dude story, I have lots of thoughts about that.

Mainly I think it’s more expensive for him to go pan for his own gold and hunt for his own diamond and make his own right (goldsmithing isn’t just mush some gold together around a twist tie) than just buy a nice ring.

Like cool story for some bragging rights, but feels more about him and what he did than shared love.
