…let’s not forget [DOT 5/3/20]

…not gonna lie…yesterday wasn’t my favorite day…& there’s a part of me that wants to rail about why a whole lot of things would be in better shape if the way the presumption in the whole “presumptive nominee” thing was figured out was on a different basis…because there’s more than one way to look at that from where I’m sitting…& a lot of what I found myself reading & hearing yesterday was by way of seeming to take its eye off the prize a little?

…as others have pointed out the sudden exits from the race by certain candidates displayed impressively convenient timing for the DNC favorite…like filling a straight on the river in a game of hold ’em

https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/2020-election/bloomberg-ends-presidential-campaign-after-dismal-super-tuesday-n1149446

…which would seem to have denied a probable lead Sanders looked to be building on the way into Super Tuesday & left at least some folks of the opinion that Warren staying in the thing is spoiling Bernie’s chances because from here it’s down to the two boys & the DNC are trying to put the biggest thumb they can muster on the scales in Biden’s favor

…which I get…but…again…seems in some ways to be beside the point

https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/2020-election/super-tuesday-s-silver-lining-trump-democratic-race-far-over-n1149186

…he “doesn’t care who wins” because he’s hoping that with a run off between the two candidates he’d most prefer to campaign against he can spend the remaining portion of the Dem primary season beta testing the strap lines he’s going to use to cherry pick whatever seems to work best out of the shit slung at the winning candidate by the other guy’s supporters & then work that slavering base of his for all the suppressively manipulated, gerrymandered & electoral college tipping votes he can…faithless or otherwise

https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/2020-election/trump-super-tuesday-biden-incredible-warren-spoiler-bloomberg-won-nothing-n1149766

…personally…& I do think I understand why this thinking is aggravating to some…I don’t think the corpulent corporate confabulator would be so sanguine if he was looking at maybe getting beat by a girl…& if I’m honest in the admittedly unlikely event that people in the remaining states were to vote for the candidate they thought was their best shot at getting the most of the things they’d like & sacrificing the least…third place wouldn’t necessarily have to be trailing this far back by the time the convention rolls around…so I guess I’m hoping Warren sticks around long enough to let some people come around to the idea that they prefer what she has to say to the stuff Biden says…& that what she has to say is a lot closer to what Bernie’s been saying than Joe

https://www.vox.com/policy-and-politics/2019/6/18/18678000/elizabeth-warren-bernie-sanders-2020-similarities-differences

…little if any of which is new

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Political_positions_of_Elizabeth_Warren

…I’ve heard coverage in which she’s described as being a moderate candidate in competition with Biden & not in the same lane as Bernie with the progressives & although that seems like a flawed analysis to me it seems to be a real calculus to some & that Overton window isn’t going to drag itself?

…surely all waves are blue waves?

…because there is a tide…& rising or falling it might actually be turning

https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/supreme-court/rare-rebuke-chief-justice-roberts-slams-schumer-threatening-comments-n1150036

…but as far as that window is concerned we’re still losing that tug of war on a daily basis

  1. Turnout in the primaries is crushing records. Could be bad news for Republicans in the fall. https://www.usatoday.com/story/opinion/2020/03/05/sanders-biden-democrats-fired-up-vote-anyone-but-trump-column/4953013002/

Of course they’ll try to stop that so donate or volunteer with Stacy Abrams to fix it. https://fairfight.com/fair-fight-2020/

Bernie will concede if Biden has a plurality of delegates going into the convention. I want Bernie to win over Biden but more than that I want no contested convention. https://www.axios.com/sanders-biden-democratic-convention-plurality-50100eac-8592-47a7-b3b8-7b23afb9313e.html
