Hope everyone is having a good week. Things have settled down here a little bit, thankfully.

    • Same. Pythons have been found a couple of counties away from where I live. They and iguanas are going to expand over the whole state, thanks to global warming. Owning invasive species shouldn’t be legal, period.

    • All pet bunnies are considered exotic. The problem isn’t that they’re an invasive species. The problem is backyard breeders of any animals. Cats left loose to breed will be destructive and harmful to the environment. I don’t understand why the person who abandoned the original rabbits aren’t being charged with animal cruelty and fined.

      • Yep and bunnies breed crazy fast so even with high casualty rates they still get out of hand real fast thanks to that backyard breeder abandoning them.

And you don’t have the structure in place to do like a trap and release with spaying/neutering them like many places try with feral cats.

  1. Sixteen people have been charged in Trump’s fake elector scheme.

It’s a bunch of state party officials, and includes Kathy Berden, who is regularly cited as a close ally of RNC leader Ronna Romney McDaniel.

Meanwhile federal prosecutors are expanding their investigation into Trump’s interference with the Georgia election in 2020.

What that means in terms of the indictment that is coming for Trump, I don’t know, but it could be an additional case.

      • If Cannon does that, she’d better be prepared for Trump screaming all through 2024 how she deliberately dragged it out to hurt him, instead of letting him go to court and prove his innocence.

I have no idea if she gets how Trump works, but even if she bungles the case in his favor he may well end up demonizing her. If higher courts reverse her rulings, like they did earlier, then she’ll be back in the firing line. He needs as many targets as he can generate, and she is an awfully convenient one.

Next year he’s going to have an enemies list that may include even more Republicans than Democrats. If she’s smart, she’ll try to slide through all of this with minimal drama and let other people take the brunt of the heat, but I have no idea how smart she is.

  2. Some dude I don’t know at the office just made a weird comment about the size of my water bottle in the break room.

So I said I was a lizard person and needed the extra water in summer.

That will teach him to not talk to strangers.

  3. Boggs and I are in misophonic hell today. The condo property is having the parking lot redone. The asphalt company was *supposed to* start arriving at 7am and working at 8am. They actually started arriving at 5am and started at 7am. I hope the people who were still parked in the lot at 7am weren’t hassled.

So since 5am it has been a cacophony of beeping, idling, grinding, and all other manner of construction noises. My walls, windows, and small items are vibrating. Boggs won’t come out from under the bed. And there are also about a dozen-ish strange men on the property. Obligatory #notallmen but last time we had workers on the property fixing something I was leered at any time I left my unit and felt unsafe. So, cool cool cool. This goes until Saturday.

    • …damn…that all sounds like it sucks…even if you have noise cancelling headphones that doesn’t do anything for the rest of it…or boggs

…hope it’s less aggravating that it could be & they don’t feel the need for an aggressively early start on the remaining days…or the whole leering thing

…best of luck with it, any road?

      • I have no idea what time they quit for the day so I am at least hoping to have some quiet time in the evenings. And we had to street park for this endeavor. Since I am a suburbanite, I am shit at parallel parking (also, regular parking) so I am hoping to not have to leave and re-park for any reason since that might mean having to maneuver around other people or park 18 miles away, lol.
