Hi, friends!
What’s something you had, then didn’t have, and then realized you needed it again?
The first car I had was an old Ford hatchback, and the second car I had was a sedan. I missed the convenience of throwing shit in the back of my first car, but otherwise no big difference. Until. Until. The first snow we had that winter. And then I realized oh shit, that back windshield wiper… I don’t have one anymore. All that gross dirty sludge crap that other drivers on the highway kick up that hits my car? No way to just wipe it away.
My third car? Also a hatchback. 🙂
Crime movies regularly involve throwing some tied up guy in the trunk of a sedan.
Just once I would like to see the bad guys hauling some poor gagged and tied up guy to their car, only to realize they have a hatchback.
“Uh, maybe we can pile some old Chinese takeout menus, a set of jumper cables, and a couple of ice scrapers on top of him and hope nobody notices?”
i can’t find the part that includes the dude jumping out of the hatchback but…
Funny, I don’t remember that episode of Friends. Ross sure looks different.
If he’s short, he can fit in the hatchback trunk just fine.
Also there’s the cover thing that keeps anyone from seeing what’s in my trunk area.
Signed,
I drove friends several times in college and the short person rode in the trunk area.
Not a hatchback but just thought of Mr. Chow
I do prefer a hatchback over a sedan. Much easier to lug stuff around.
Also being the short guy of the group, I spent more time in the trunk of a car than I want to remember. The worst was being jammed into the back of one of the new Cooper Minis. It almost made me claustrophobic.
I feel like every car, no matter how small or luxurious, should have a roof rack.
Two seater Miata? Rolls Royce? Needs a roof rack for hauling a sheet of plywood or a Christmas tree.
