Not a winner [NOT 20/7/23]

I regret to inform you that I did not win the Powerball drawing last night for a gazillion dollars. The plan to build a giant compound for all sorts of fun and happiness has alas been delayed.

    tho…euromillions is only a bazzillion dollars…..would have to be a more modest compound if i’d won…

Speaking of winners & losers, Taylor Swift is doing concerts here this weekend & people are losing their shit!  News people are warning of the traffic apocalypse!  Winners = merch sellers & Taylor.  Losers = unsuspecting visitors, anyone that needs to drive or use public transportation, & rich parents that bought tickets for their kids but are too afraid to let them take public transportation because Seattle is a “godless hellscape” so will have to drive & hangout or face that traffic twice!

    • The weekend I went to Pittsburgh for my SIL’s memorial service Taylor Swift was doing two nights. And the Port Authority was asking people not to drive downtown unless it was absolutely necessary. So I didn’t get to stock  up at the Italian market and I was pissed.

      • Yeah, I’m not going south this weekend.  Have to go north to help my daughter move & friends winery is having wine tasting, also north of Seattle.

      • Also, I haven’t been to Capitol Hill block party in a long time but that is one of the best party/concerts of our short outdoor festival seasons.  Used to be the best upcoming bands plus the Spoonman!

        • I love it too! The set up is great. Bar hopping to bands in small and medium venues. But I haven’t been since the pandemic and likely won’t for a couple of years.

          I liked Bumbershoot less. It always felt too big a venue for the lineup of bands.
