Is there anything where you’re just like nope, not doing it. Great for others. Not for me.
Especially for things where you rationally understand that other options are fine?
For me, I cannot do hard sided luggage. I just dislike it so much and it’s an irrational dislike. Unfortunately, soft sided luggage is getting less and less popular so at some point my crabby self will have to get some.
I prefer literal carry on luggage — bags with a shoulder strap instead of wheels. But while you can occasionally find wheeled luggage with a lame-o strap attached, you inevitably get the wheels or frame sticking you in the back if you try to use it.
…maybe check out the ones osprey make…think it was maybe the fairview/farpoint ones they had that do rolling luggage that’s also backpacks…some of which are carry-on size…maybe not the 40L one(s) & larger but there’s some smaller that even comply with the tighter allowances they tend to claim to enforce on european flights as opposed to the somewhat more generous requirements for domestic flights in the US
…either way the part where the padded ends of the hipbelt sit between you & the wheels & the fact that they know a fair bit about how to rig a rucksack does (according to someone I know who got asked to test run one of them) actually mean there’s none of the sticking you in the back thing & you get an altogether better class of shoulder strap
…mind you…they’re not cheap…& in addition to not being my thing because I’m not a fan of the wheel part when I could have both hands free…I’ve never given much thought to whether or not they’re worth it…though I do still have one of their 60L packs that I snagged in a sale…& in around a decade I haven’t managed to kill that…it’s got one compression strap that I have to tie off because the buckle that would normally hold the tension lost the second slot to pass the strap back through…but that’s the worst even baggage handlers have managed to do to it
Thanks. I have one which works, but when it bursts some sad day they have a couple of carryons which are the type I like.
Luggage is one of those things worth paying a bit more for. You never know when you’ll be forced to check it and the airline reroutes it to a cargo terminal in Rancho Cucomunga and it’s put on a freight train with farm animals.
Me too. After a flight, the last thing I want to do is wait around for my bag.

Watching football.
I watch football but hate the NFL & NCAA as a whole. Hate the rules, not the game. Baseball is completely unwatchable to me & as entertaining as watching paint dry.
Reality TV. My last GF loved that stuff and I had to watch it with her… as much as I miss my last GF I was relieved that I no longer had to watch the various housewives of where-ever.
I am proud to say I have never watched reality TV even though one of my best friends has been on the crew for everything from Real World, Nanny 911, Apprentice & Survivor.
The older I get, the less vehement my opinions, because you never know.
Grown-up socks, and matching my pairs of socks.
I rediscovered kids’ sized socks in my mid/late 20’s, and I won’t ever go back to Women’s socks, unless *absolutely* forced to!
Because even though the label says those Women’s socks are *supposed* to fit feet from size 5-9 or 10 shoes?
They will ALWAYS slide *down* your foot, until the heel is on *your* heel–leaving 2″-4″ of wet, mushy sock fabric allllll mashed up into the toes of your shoes (or flapping like a Labrador’s tongue on a hot day, off the tips of your toes, if you are shoeless!!!!🤢🤢🤢).
Kids’ socks, on the other hand?
*NO* extra length between the ball of your foot & heel, to slide forward & bunch uncomfortably, *multiple* fun colors & designs in each pack, and they’re cheaper than grown-up’s socks, too!😁😃🤗
As for that “matching up pairs” thing?
When you wear kids’ socks, as long as the shape is the same, no one NOTICES if the color or pattern match😉
Kids’ shoes are better than Grown-up ones, too, if you can wear ’em–half the price (or less!), wider toe box (less pinching), and often more fun patterns & colors, with really great support.
The only time I bother buying “grown up” shoes anymore, is if I need a pair of heels, for an occasion/event.
Also, paying full/non-sale retail prices for non-special-occasion clothes.
I work with kids, my “work clothes” are GONNA get wrecked at *some* point during the school year–painted on, spilled on, boogered on… they’re *either* going to get stained up, or I’m going to catch ’em on something and accidentally rip a hole in it, as I crawl over/under *something* to help one of my littles co-regulate (spent a good half-hour Friday morning, laying on my back & side, under a preschool table, helping a little dude deal with the fact that he missed his mommy, and he had to get through 6 activities before his mom was gonna be there to pick him up (turned it into a song/chant–“One, two, three, four, five, six, Mom!”)
Since *all* my work clothes will eventually be sacrificed to the Pre-K gods, I refuse to waste *real* money on them, and I just get the *same* (cotton) v-neck t-shirts in *every* colorway i like–plus 3-4 in black, and get 3+ black tank tops, 2+ light grey & dark grey, then a few random colors.
And if I run across cheap blue jeans that fit, I’ll buy 5 pair at a time, and wear ’em til they’re getting holes.
Because I’m NOT going to spend upwards of $30.00 on a shirt, or $40-50+ for *A* pair of jeans which are as likely as not, to get TRASHED the very first time I wear ’em–it’s just not worth the cost.
So I buy those boring “non-Uniform Uniform” pieces, and look BORING but remain inexpensively *functional* all the time😉

its only wednesday and ive already pissed everyone off by being insubordinate…and obstinate….also apparently i dont smile enough

anyways…my team lead can have her job back next week….lol
(shit runs so much better when you completely ignore the offices demands tho….just saying)
