Took me almost 2 hours to get home (usually my commute on days is around 40 minutes.) Even took a different route home because I usually take a highway (the radio traffic guy said the highway on ramp where I usually get on was a disaster.)
A day like today is when I’m glad I opted to get winter tires for this car.
So, after all the tests, stress, & cost we finally have some answers about my daughters health. Though she tested negative twice she does have mono after all. I know @brighter had that on her diagnosis. They have never seen liver functions that high from it but we are just relieved it is just that as Lymphoma was top of our bingo card. Maybe I can actually sleep through the night again?
Mono sucks but I’m glad it wasn’t something worse. Encourage good diet and sleeping habits longer than she thinks she needs and the odds of a good recovery are very strong.
@loveshaq, I’m so glad it ended up being mono! I swear to fucking god the diagnostic test for mono is useless because the folks I’ve known in situations similar to your daughter had the same sort of thing. It was like no not that oh okay after a lot of stress and time and money, huh guess it was that…
I hate that the false negatives put you through all that, @Loveshaq, but yeah, compared to other possibilities, mono can be dealt with. Lots of love and support to your family.
A couple of nights ago I let our dog out in the backyard to pee and a fox was sitting on the other side of the fence in the alley. The dog lit out barking and the fox, disdainfully, slowly got up and trotted off.
Holy shit that’s an expensive watch. Last year I bought a mechanical Hamilton khaki aviation watch and the $1,500 price tag almost made me choke. I wasn’t going to get it but Mrs Butcher really liked it so who am I to argue?
How’s everyone east of the Mississippi doing with the weather? Has the storm passed you yet?

UGH. Those drives are the worst.
You’re damn right about snow tires, though.
We had gusty winds this afternoon and rain but it wasn’t too bad.

That’s good news… kind of.
Better than the scarier ones.
Glad you finally got some answers and it wasn’t anything worse.
Boooooo for Mono, but YAY for it not being that biggest worry!
Thinking ALL sorts of good thoughts all your way(s), and definitely hoping she feels better soon!💖💞💝
Sounds like best of all outcomes!

Was on sale. Pretty good deal for new one as some used similar ones are going higher.
Ham khaki aviator — solid choice!
It’s also a replica of the watch that my grandfather used when he was a bombardier, so there’s a fair amount of emotional value, too, I must admit.
