Oops [NOT 12/12/24]

Hi, friends!

Happy Thursday! I hope it’s going well and your week is winding down.

Do any oopsies lately? I accidentally made my iced coffee way too strong and let me tell ya, I had a fun and jittery morning!

  1. oh fuck im still awake!

shit 3 and a half hours of sleep is enough right?

other than that no recent whoopsies on my end….other than the door i drove through and the driver i almost squished with a tiny insignificant stack of filter paper weighing about 600kg

he was awake enough to step aside tho

scary thing is……everyone at works likes me for being the boring professional careful guy

the body count elsewhere must be nuts

  2. Yesterday while moving a fridge I had to balance it on a dolly on my chest & am now bruised from my nipples to my stomach.  Looks like I’m a bad boxer that couldn’t block body shots.  Then I tried to book some lift tickets online & didn’t get a confirmation so booked them again so have now paid twice.  The only phone number puts me in a useless loop of phone ringing & then back to original greeting.  We’ll see if they fix it as I sent a message to a generic email address.

  3. Over a year ago, I made a bad one. It was the last week of our then cafeteria service at work before the new service took over and for reasons unknown I picked up a tuna salad sub (the healthier option) instead of the burger. I wish I had the burger that weekend because the tuna salad had a surprise, food poisoning.

As I was feeling my stomach reel, my mom had another dementia caused psychotic episode and the cops had to take her to the hospital for “observation.” I spent as long as I could dealing with my parents before I jumped into my car and rushed home to start a four day course of projectile vomiting and diarrhea. Meanwhile my mom was in the hospital for three days (and I ended up paying for an ambulance ride back because I was too sick to deal with her AND drive) and my dad didn’t have anything to eat.

I ended up feeling seriously guilty (for leaving my mom in the hospital and dad without food) and stupid (for picking the tuna salad sub.)

I just got enough strength (and my guts held out long enough) to go the grocery store and get my dad some food to eat (yeah, I basically sterilized my hands before touching anything.)

On top of that I had to cancel a big OT weekend.

Sometimes the healthy option isn’t always the best choice.

  4. I just realized earlier today that I signed in half an hour late for work on Monday without calling in. (I was starting late that day already because I had to interpret in court, although I was done well before then.) Nobody’s brought it up to me, though, and I haven’t seen any notation on my schedule this week, so I’m just wondering if I should just not bother reporting it since the pay period, as well as the fiscal year, both end tomorrow anyway.
