Patience is a virtue, but I am not virtuous [NOT 27/4/21]

Hi, friends! I am so impatiently waiting to set up my new raised bed for the garden. I wanted to do it last weekend but it rained buckets. I should wait until this weekend I guess but ahahahhhahhahfhfhfhagd I just want to see it all pretty now.

Is there something lately that is just taking all your patience to wait for?

  1. My wife has wanted a truck for awhile so I can go get truckloads of mulch this time of year.  I am finally sick of loading kayaks, paddle boards & bikes on my little SUV hoping they won’t fly off.  Our old Honda is close to retirement & I want to go electric but the truck I want is not out & who knows when it will be?  This company is just teasing me right now.  Take my money!!!  Give me this truck now!

  2. BOGGS’ TEST RESULTS.

Boggs did not consent, apparently, to having his blood drawn at the vet today so I have to go back Friday when an “experienced tech” is there. However his urinalysis was totally clear of any concerns.

    • Boooo at the vet for not having an “experienced tech” who could draw blood from a non-compliant cat. Handling pissed off cats is such a big part of the job…

      Hope all goes well Friday.

      • I’ve never even seen him pissed at the vet, normally they rave about what a good and friendly boy he is. So i have no idea what happened, since it was all curbside drop off. But yes, boo to this. I made this appointment for blood and urine, they should have had someone who could do the job! I can’t complain TOO MUCH though, the vet (Dr) explained the urinalysis results in point by point detail after he heard I had a previous kidney cat.

  3. UPDATE I did go outside and assemble the raised bed.

I knew I didn’t have enough potting soil purchased because the capacity is 0.75 cubic yards but the store fucking sold potting soil in 50 dry quart bags.  So basically I bought enough bags that I knew I would want to schlepp from the car to the raised bed and figured I probably had about half of what I needed.

My guesstimate wasn’t too far off, but I’ll probably just buy some compost instead to mix in there and then some mulch for the top.

  4. I get tired of “herding cats”. Waiting for content approval from external partners, building internal team process and timeline understanding, notifying and engaging even peripheral stakeholders. Sigh.

Also, had my second jab today, Moderna, so far so good 8 hours in.

  5. I got my first shot of Pfizer this afternoon. Feeling normal so far! I was surprised at how solemn the line of soon to-be vaccinated people was. I chatted up all the volunteers along the way and they were lovely. The 25min wait time in a hallway with other non vaccinated folks kind of made me nervous but it was worth it.
