Phew! [DOT 15/5/20]

Yesterday was Blursday so that makes today… Friyay?

I was on Zoom calls for 3 hours yesterday. That shit’s exhausting. 80% of what is going on doesn’t apply to me, but I have to look engaged and pay attention instead of doing my actual work.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not complaining about being gainfully employed during “this difficult time“, it’s just…a lot.

Hope you guys are all hanging in there. It is Friday after all!

  1. Dolly is a national treasure. Jeff Bezos, not so much.

So, the repubs are circling the Russian meddling wagons so they can Donner party the betrayers. Please let the door hit you on your way out Comrade Burr.

    Happy Friday!!!

  2. Aaaagggghhhhh, Zoom calls. Hates them, I do. Now it’s become SOP at my company to turn on your camera. So I have to check my calendar and make sure I’m cleaned up and camera-ready by the first meeting. I wear a headset to avoid annoying everybody in my family more than I absolutely have to (my desk is in the family room). After a couple of hours the headset starts to hurt my big ears. I’ve also started having problems with my internet late in the afternoon, so I keep getting kicked off. Which is fine unless I’m supposed to talk about something.

I’m considering creating a video loop to run while I get up and walk away.

  3. Woke up at 3:48am thinking it was Sunday. Went to use the lav, thinking I can go back to bed and sleep in. Halfway thru I realized it was only Friday and I have to be up in an hour for work. Naturally, i didn’t get back to sleep.

    • I woke up because I was having a nightmare that I was stuck in NYC and everyone was crowded and not wearing masks and I couldn’t find my train in Penn Station. So that was fun. I woke up with tears in my eyes.

  4. First off, super happy about Burr thing but what about Loeffler & Inhofe? Those fuckers need to go down too but I guess only Burr didn’t kiss Trump’s ass hard enough? I also find it funny that the conspiracy theory idiots think Bill Gates started this yet it is Bezos that is getting rich from it. But I did just see some great news if true!

  5. Happy weekend to everyone!
Started a new tradition to mark the weekend, the FancyFridayCocktail. I’ve been contemplating what to make since 6:45AM when I started work.
    Any suggestions?
I have all the booze and most of mixers. And garnishes (its not fancy if you don’t garnish).

    • Washington. Bend, OR. is amazing though! More good breweries in a small area than almost anyplace, beautiful Deschutes River through the town and Mt. Bachelor right there. You should visit him.
