  6. I got to wondering about the toddler photo, and after searching I think the story is that’s an erasable marker and the mom told the flight attendant first, then cleaned it up later. They were on a 15 hour international flight, and she wanted him to settle down and sleep.

    It also looks like grafitti inside planes is all over the insides of military and commercial planes, so it’s not just toddlers, except in non-washable ink.

    Went from working at a GA only FBO to fueling the airlines at a new airport. Is fuel panel graffiti part of airline culture?

      seems theres a sizeable percentage of humans that cannot be left in charge of a sharpie without feeling an irresistible urge to write or draw on all the things…especially if said things arent theirs

      research is needed to determine if its the same group that cannot be left near buttons without pressing them or if thats an entirely different breed of wierdly compulsive human

       

      • We had a salesman that was notorious for picking things up. When we saw him coming we would spray oil on some parts so when he picked them up his fingers would get nice and oily. Childish but funny.

         

    • Yeah I appreciate her wanting to help. That’s wonderful.

      But also, dystopian that little kids are dealing with lunch debt. A handful of school districts here just do free breakfast and lunch for all students because so many qualified already.

      • School lunches were free during the pandemic. I think it was a federal program, so it was widespread across the US. That’s ended, and now Florida is restricting free lunches again. Because we absolutely cannot support abortion, but nobody is going to feed the children that are here. Or provide them with medical care. They can pull themselves up by their bootstraps.

        • One nutty thing is big agribusinesses love free school lunch programs. Tens of millions of lunches every day for nine months of the year means huge amounts of milk, corn and wheat getting moved.

          But their lobbyists, who hold a lot of sway with red state legislators, won’t lift a finger. They’ll get more worked up over whether almond milk can be labelled as milk* than fight for serious interests in common with big city residents.

          *almond milk is a term that is older than Chaucer and Middle English.

    • A nephew of mine used to work at a pizza place that was featured on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives. He said Fieri was an asshole that thought calling everyone a homophobic slur was cool and witty. I’m not surprised he’s a trump guy.
