Quite frankly, it’s all a bit much to be honest…[DOT 20/12/19]

They say things come in threes…but how do you know which three things go together when there are so many to choose from these days.

Like there’s the UK/Scottish Independence thing & there’s the Impeachment thing & this crazy-sounding shit out of Russia yesterday…

I mean – how do expect doing something like that to turn out…

& what would compel you to go through with it, come to that…

Or you could stick with the circus stateside…

…according to the NYT

…three-ring grade at the very least, that one

…at least.

Or perhaps you’d prefer to remind yourself why (if Richard Dawkins ends up on the eternal naughty step at the bottom of the stairway to heaven, that is) god clearly blessed the BBC

…although as they’d no doubt make a point of saying “other streaming services are available”…

I can’t even imagine what an unmitigated shitshow the GOP section of the Senate Impeachment hearings are gonna be.

nothing to see here, everything’s fine & I’m really doing quite well out of it, thanks for asking…

How in the ever-loving-fuck can a thing the lack of action about which (in the faces of steadily mounting further evidence before, during & after the multiplicity of investigations that remain in most cases ongoing) actually birthed the tangerine toddler’s over-fondness for the epithet “do nothing democrats” somehow result to a fellow traveller of the GOP persuasion in a “hasty” impeachment?

We’ve had literal truckloads of evidence that – all other things being equal – this mewling diaper of a supreme executive would have spent his entire life behind bars from the time he was in his mid-teens & arguably would have had to live several lifetimes if the full aggregate sentence he’d have received based on minimum sentencing guidelines were followed…?

see…now I’m kinda fucked…

they say I did what, now…?

I’m reading, here…

this is why we have the goddamned helicopter, people…

but honestly, is it any less crazy than this…?

Or the fact that a lot of people seem to take the nuances in this kind of thing…

…way more seriously that any of that boring-ass geo-political insanity…

…because, well…

…see title…

…ah, well – at least I’m going to shut up now…

…so you got that going for you.

    Brexit timeline
    23 June 2016 – In a UK-wide referendum, voters back leaving the EU by 52% to 48%

29 March 2017 – The government triggers Article 50 of the Lisbon Treaty, starting the process of the UK’s withdrawal from the EU

November 2018 – EU leaders and UK Prime Minister Theresa May agree a withdrawal deal

Jan-March 2019 – The UK Parliament rejects the deal three times

October 2019 – New Prime Minister Boris Johnson agrees a withdrawal deal with the EU

12 December 2019 – Boris Johnson wins the UK general election with an 80-seat majority

20 December 2019 – MPs back the PM’s deal with the EU by a majority of 124

January 2020 – Parliament will further scrutinise the bill outlining these plans – and it is expected to pass into law

31 January 2020 – The government says the UK will leave the EU at 23:00 GMT

    • that timeline suggests there’s some truth to Brexit being “done” by the end of Jan 2020…

in actuality all that will be done is that the UK moves (irrevocably?) into the “transitional period” during which the very first of the formal negotiations for the actual deal that would represent your actual Brexit will in fact begin, not end.

& if you recall how much fuss has been made about the N Ireland “backstop” which (now the DUP no longer hold the whip hand) Boris is quite capable of reneging on just to show how big a brain he’s hiding under that superannuated schoolboy mop…

so finalising those negotiations in anything less than more time than it took to get here is a pipe dream…

whereas papering over the cracks & sticking to a narrative that tells people they’re fine to stop thinking about it while he carries on making sure no-one gets what they want out of it except if the hold capital in quantity…or are called nigel farage or vladimir putin…

“but heigh-ho, don’t cha know, it’s on with the show because the show must go on, what – & it’s a jolly good show, jolly good show, too… excellent as a matter of fact*…alea jacta est** & all that, what…dulce et decorum est***, hahaha…” – boris bloody johnson, probably…or that rees-mogg tit with the equally smackable mug…
