Recommendations? [NOT 07/9/23]

Hi, friends!

It’s ben a while, let’s have a Recommendations/Nopes post.

I got excited because CVS has Hatch Chile seasoned almonds. I mean they’re okay enough in a general “southwestern seasoning, but bland” way, but Hatch chile they ain’t.

How about y’all? Try anything new lately?

  1. I bought a new bed. I looked at reviews online and talked to a couple of neighbors that had recently bought new ones and decided on a Dreamcloud hybrid with an adjustable frame. I set it up today, very easy, no tools needed. I don’t know if I can recommend it or not but I’ll let you know after a few nights sleep.

  2. Does anyone have the Samsung S23, and if so, do ya like it?

     

    I’m a *few* generations behind (still have the S9😉😆🤣), and Verizon is basically stalking me now, with the free upgrade offers, so I’m thinking it’s time to go for it, since they’re apparently offering it for *free* now, if I trade in my old one…

    Annnnd the old one is going to start crapping out on me at *some* time in the next few months (plus I’ve busted my otterbox case allll to hell!🤣), I’m thinkin’ i may as well just *upgrade* & get a new phonr *and* case, rather than wait forever to get the old case replaced & get an upgrade at some point this next year-ish…

    Do any of y’all that have the S23 like/hate theirs?

     

    • I went from an S8 to an S23 this spring. The main differences for me are:

      • holds a charge longer;
      • has a flat screen as opposed to the bizarre rounded edges of the S8;
      • is slightly larger;
      • and takes much better quality photos.

      I like it just fine, but I am not an adept mobile phone user.

    • I have the much cheaper Samsung A53 which is about a year older and I like it. I don’t use my phone for much so I’m not pushing it hard.

      Things I like are Samsung cut way down on the bloatware compared to an older Samsung I had, although there is still some. The camera is nice. They say they will keep the Android and security going for a couple more years. I think there’s a newer version in this cheaper line of phones.

  3. i dont recommend going to work today….90f…non airconditioned work shop…and fuck all to do

    but i have to….made the mistake of giving my team lead an early heads up that i booked friday off…..soooo she pulled some strings to get that day denied coz ermagerd we are sooooo shortstaffed (yes they can do that if they have good reason within limits) never mind that i could have and did tell her production would be flatlined by wednesdays anyways (i was actually off by half a day….we made it till thursday morning)

    welp is what is…lesson learnt

    didnt tell her ive now booked monday off and its been granted

    probably gonna be busy and still 90f on monday

    but professional courtesy just got moved off the menu
