Hi, friends!
Has there been something recently that you rediscoverd? A band or tv show or food or park or whatever – that you used to enjoy a lot and drifted away from?
I forgot how much I like quinoa salads. I don’t make quinoa much in winter because I don’t like it warm. I’m much more a brown rice or pasta person. But goddamn, I’ve been making herby cucumber salads and adding some quinoa and it’s been amazingly good!
Just came back from walking on the beach with the family and saw ghost crabs for the first time in years.
Nice! When I was younger, those things terrified me.
For me, it’s not *quite* as much a “rediscovering
“rediscovering” as an i just haven’t *done* it in months–coloring.
Just coloring on “coloring pages” with the kids, using Crayola markers.
It’s nice & relaxing, and I can do it as i’m watching the rest of the kids & trying to keep them from skiing themselves or their friends (they’re sweet, but impulsive as hell, and they’ll do things that can be *incredibly* dumb & dangerous, because “it *sounded fun!*🙃🫠
Cold noodles. With it being so damn hot right now, I am making ramen noodles and broth ahead of time, refrigerating it, and then adding cooked but refrigerated proteins and vegetables. That will be my dinner throughout the week.
Ooh, that sounds delicious and refreshing!

Yummmmmm!
I used to ignore the news. Then I got sober and then older and became engaged. I’m rediscovering the joys of completely ignoring the news (except for DOTs, which I read as if they were part of a Douglas Adams book).
I’m still sober though.
Every week, I rediscover my hate for the grill inside my sink. I’m starting think it’s more trouble than it’s worth. It has a major design flaw like the one in this picture. Its feet have rubber protectors but their openings face upward so they collect water and food residue and are hard to clean. The whole thing is hard to clean without spraying a misty mess of yuck all over the countertop.
That is such an obvious design flaw! Ugh!
Maybe squeeze a little silicone caulk in those?
